Our Mission
The goal of the Minor League Golf Tour is to provide an affordable training ground for aspiring players to hone their game.  Just like minor league baseball or NFL Europe, The Minor League Golf Tour provides a place for those with a dream to keep on chasing it.
 
What makes The Minor League Golf Tour Special
A great deal of planning has gone into developing our fee structure, payout and website.  It is what makes our tour distinctive.  This page contains a complete written and visual explanation to ensure that you understand our payout.  We want you to comprehend how it works so that you will appreciate the value our tour offers. 

Tour Payout
On The Minor League Golf Tour 50% of the field earns a check.

 
The top quarter of the field (0-25%) ALWAYS earn a check for at least 100% of their entry fee, with last place in the top quarter equal to the entry fee.  Additionally, the majority of the remaining purse is distributed to these players by performance. 

 
The next quarter of the field (25-50%) ALWAYS earn a check for at least 1/3 of their entry fee plus a portion of the remaining purse is distributed to these players by performance.

1-Day Events
Our 1-Day Events are low cost $130-$190per day tournaments that provide you an opportunity to sharpen your competitive skills.  The top 50% of the field earns a check and becomes eligible to compete in our "Major" events.  Your successful performance triggers a standing invitation to the next level, akin to minor league ball players getting "called up" to the Majors!
Majors
Our "Majors" are exclusively for players who have earned a check in a 1-Day Event OR have shot under 80 on any professional golf tour.  These multiple day events are intended to test your skills against a higher level of competition AND allow you to play for a bit more money.  Our 50% of the field makes a check payout ensures that if you play well you will get something more than experience. 
* Entry fees vary depending on the venue and time of year.  Course costs are composed of cart fees, greens fees, range balls and tax.  Course costs can be more than twice the summer rate from November through April.  Entry fees will be adjusted accordingly to guarantee our 50% of the field earns a check payout.

How much of the Entry Fee goes towards the purse?

As much as possible.  The Minor League Golf Tour has a formula to determine how much to charge for each event based upon:

1. Our First Place Guarantee
2. Our 50% of the field earns a check payout 
3. The cost to run the event

Between 1/2 and 2/3 of the Entry Fee goes into the purse for a 1-Day Event. 

For Majors the Entry Fee is higher, which allows for somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of the Entry Fee to go into the purse.
