PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Brandon Smith of West Palm Beach fired back-to-back seven under par 65's to win for the fifth time on the Fuzion Minor League Golf Tour. Three of those wins have come since he turn pro earlier this year.
At 130 on the Estate course at PGA National, Smith edged Sunny Kim of Palm Beach Gardens, who shot 65-66 for 131 with a bogey at the driveable par-4 17th hole Thursday when he hit his tee shot left and out of bounds. Kim put his next tee shot on the green and two-putted for bogey. He eagled the final hole.
In 36 holes, Smith had an eagle, 13 birdies and a bogey. He eagled the par-5 fifth and bogeyed the par-4 sixth during the final round. In addition to the closing eagle, Kim made 13 birdies and one bogey each day. Smith earned $1,500, Kim $1,100, from the $7,280 purse. There were 26 starters.

Next week the Fuzion MLGT inaugurates a senior division for players 47 years and older. The first of 11 events in the Champions Tour Q-School starts Monday at Jacaranda GC in Plantation.
There was $110 in the Day 2 Skins Pot with 7 Skins out worth $15.71 each.
