STUART, Fla. - Michael Brice of Jacksonville birdied the first hole and went on to post a 68 and win a Minor League Golf Tour event Friday at the Florida Club.

Given an hour's notice after a cancellation in the 32-player field, Brice made the half-hour drive north on Interstate 95 from Palm Beach Gardens and scored his second MLGT victory, earning $340 from the $2,210 purse. He added birdies at the eighth, 11th, 13th and 14th holes before closing with a bogey at No. 18 to win by two strokes.

Brice's first MLGT win came on Nov. 9 at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach. He is a member of the Hobe-Sound-based Grey Goose Gateway Tour, which is idle this week.

Next on the MLGT schedule: March 6, PGA National-Estate, Palm Beach Gardens, and March 10, Winston Trails GC, Lake Worth. For information and entry, call Jay Slazinski, 561-319-8460, or go to www.minorleaguegolf.com.
