PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Justin Hicks of Royal Palm Beach parred
the second extra hole Tuesday on the Estate course at PGA National
to claim his third Minor League Golf Tour title, his second this
year.
Hicks and Jay Westerlund of Naples tied at two under par 142 on
final round scores of 68 and 67, respectively. After they halved the
first playoff hole, Westerlund bogied the second from a fairway
bunker.
Hicks finished strong with an eagle at the par-5 15th hole and
birdies at Nos. 14, 16 and 18. For the day, he also had another
birdie and two bogies. Westerlund played a bogey-free round with
five birdies.
Adam Hanson of Hoffman, Minn., the first round leader, closed with
75-146 to tie for fourth.
