PALM BEACH GARDENS - Chad Kurmel of Margate earned
his first Minor League Golf Tour title Monday with
a three under par 69 on the Estate course at PGA
National. An assistant professional at Stonebridge
Country Club in Boca Raton, Kurmel overcame bogies
at the third and 10th holes with birdies at Nos.
5, 7, 11, 14 and 15.
It was the fifth straight MLGT tournament in which
the winning score was 69.
The 40th event of the MLGT's third season drew 28
starters.
Following a three-week spring break, the MLGT
resumes July 10 at Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm
