Minor League Golf is having SIX 2017 Web.com Q-School Contests! Contest #2 Starts March 20th

Pass/Fail Tournament Details

The closest number of players and ties to 50% of the field, but not to exceed 50% of the field passes and earns at least their entry fee back.

In the pass/fail event format the player that finishes 1st will earn the same check as the player who finishes just inside the top half of the field.

Sample Payout #1
Based on 21 Players
8/16/16 at Legacy GC
9 Players Passed

T1 - 67 T10 - 78
T1 - 67 13 - 79
3 - 69 T14 - 80
T4 - 70 T14 - 80
T4 - 70 16 - 81
6 - 71 17 - 83
7 - 72 18 - 85
T8 - 74 T19 - 86
T8 - 74 T19 - 86
T10 - 78 21 - NC
T10 - 78
If this was a pass/fail payout, the top 9 would pass. The 3 players tied for 10th place would not earn a check because 12 out of 21 players would be more than 50% of the field earning a check.

Sample Payout #2
Based on 22 Players
5/24/16 at PGA Squire
11 Players Passed

1 - 64 T12 - 73
T2 - 68 T12 - 73
T2 - 68 14 - 74
T4 - 69 T15 - 75
T4 - 69 T15 - 75
6 - 70 T15 - 75
T7 - 71 18 - 76
T7 - 71 T19 - 77
T9 - 72 T19 - 77
T9 - 72 21 - NC
T9 - 72 22 - NC
If this was a pass/fail payout, the top 11 players would pass because 11 out of 22 players finished T9 or better, exactly at 50% of the field passing and earning a check.

Why did Minor League Golf invent the pass/fail format?

The point of the pass/fail event is to simulate competing in a golf tournament where you don't have to win, you just have to pass to reach the next level. Examples of this are attempting to make the cut after a mediocre first round, trying make it through a Q-School stage, or passing the PGA Playing Ability Test (PAT). The pass/fail format will help you to learn to grind it out and give it everything you have to "pass" instead of letting up a bit when you don't have your best on any given day.

Want to play for more money? No problem!

For those players that want to play for more money there is always a bonus pool option in the pass/fail format. The MLGT optional bonus pool always pays the top 33% and ties. 100% of the bonus pool entry goes into the bonus pool purse. Additionally there is an optional $20 skins game.

Sample Bonus Pool Payout (9 Players x $100 bonus pool entry)

1st $464, 2nd $300, 3rd $136
