Eric Cole from Orlando, FL finished 2nd at the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour after tying Chris Kirk at 14-under par 266 on the Champ course at PGA National. On the first playoff hole Kirk hit a wedge to a foot while Cole was over the green in 2. Cole hit his bunker shot to 10 feet and lipped out the birdie putt that would have extended the playoff.
Cole jumps to 33rd on the FedEx Cup points list after the 2nd place finish.
Cole turned pro in 2009 and won the first MLGT event he played in at Quail Ridge. He's won 56 times since then and has a scoring average of 68.85. It was only a matter of time before Eric broke through and made it to the PGA Tour.
Everyone at the MLGT is proud of you Eric. Keep up the great play!
