PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - In the finals, Raoul Menard quickly found himself 4 up through 7 holes and would go one to halve the next 5 holes. With his back against the wall and 4 down with 6 to go, Staub rattled off birdies at 13, 14 and 15 winning all three holes and cutting the lead to 1 down with 3 to go. After they halved the 16th with pars Menard hit his 2nd shot at 17 to 15 feet. An ill timed short sided missed green by Staub would lead to the end of the match. After his chip came up short twice he conceeded Menard's putt and the championship. Congratulations to both players for some great golf all week and to Raoul Menard on the win!
Menard won $3,000 for the win, Staub $2,000 for runner up.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - #13 seed Raoul Menard is set to face #26 seed Nicklas Staub in the finals Thursday morning.
Staub had a roller coaster quarterfinal match where he was 5 up through 10 then tied through 16 and ended up beating Daniel Obremski 2 up. In the semifinal against #3 seed Michael McGowan he eagled the drivable par-4 16th to win 3&2.
Menard and close friend Joey Savoie needed extra holes to determine a winner in the quarterfinal. Menard birdied the 21st hole and Savoie's birdie putt lipped out to extend. Menard would face the #1 seed James Nicholas in the semifinal and it also went extra holes. On the 23rd hole Nicholas' tee shot was lost in a tree and would lead to the end of a marathon match. Menard's birdie putt was conceeded and he earned his spot in the finals.
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - #1 seed James Nicholas continues his fine play defeating Jake Brown in the round of 32 and Tyler Hull in the round of 16. The biggest upset of the day came when #31 seed Daniel Obremski knocked off #2 seed Owen Stamper in the round of 32. Obremski went on to beat Andrew Riley to advance to the quarterfinal match. US Am champ Tyler Strafaci is set to take on Michael McGowan and in the final quarterfinal match good friends Joey Savoie and Raoul Menard will battle it out to see which Canadian will advance to the semifinal.
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - James Nicholas from Scarsdale, NY earned the #1 seed with an impressive 9-under par 58 on the Match course at PGA National Monday during the qualifying/seeding round.
61 players teed off eyeing the 32 spots up for grabs in the Match Play bracket.
Minus two was in clean and minus one was a five for three playoff. Allan Kournikova (a) was eliminated on the first playoff hole with a bogey after the other four players made par. On the seconf playoff hole Lukas Clark was eliminated with a bogey after the other three players made par. Daniel Obremski, Jamie Sindelar and Jake Brown earned the last three spots in the match play bracket.
