NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. – Zack Shriver of Marysville, Wash., established several firsts with his victory Wednesday in a Golfslinger.com Tour event at North Palm Beach Country Club.
He shot a six under par 65 in his fourth Golfslinger start. It not only was his first victory, it was the first time he had broken par. He had cashed checks the three previous outings, all this year, but never for as much as $100. Wednesday, he received $1,000 from the $4,185 purse. An assistant at the municipal course, Shriver birdied Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 and 13 and did not make a bogey.
Jordan Holley of Greensboro, NC shot 66 to tie for second place with Will Coleman of Kensington, MD.
The Golfslinger’s 92nd tournament of the year had 31 players. Thursday’s site, the East course at Jacaranda Golf Club in Plantation, will host open qualifying Monday for the Web,com Tour’s Miccosukee Open next weekend in Miami.
There was $150 in the skins pot with 2 skins out worth $75 each.
