WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Jimmy Hazen of Jupiter overcame a bogey on the first hole with eight birdies, four on each nine, Tuesday at Ironhorse Country Club to earn his fourth victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour.
At seven under par 65, Hazen, 32, won by two strokes over Stephen Grant of Palm Beach Gardens, earning $1,000 from the $5,474 purse. Grant, who shot 67 with six birdies and a bogey, was second among 46 starters, collecting $600.
Tim Cantwell of Palm Beach Gardens tied for third place with Thomas Buran from San Francisco at 3-under par 69.
The Golfslinger schedule for the rest of the month: Thursday, Links @ Madison Green, Royal Palm Beach; Monday, Hammock Creek GC, Palm City; and Jan. 31-Feb. 1, Champions Club, Stuart.
There was $270 in the skins pot with 2 skins out worth $135 each.
