PALM CITY, Fla. – Jeff Hatten of Farmington, Conn., scored his first victory as a professional Monday when he won a Golfslinger.com Tour event at Hammock Creek Golf Club. Hatten fired a four under par 68 to edge Daniel Obremski of Pittsburgh, Pa., by a shot.
Making his 14th start since joining Golfslinger last October, Hatten birdied the last two holes and altogether had five birdies and a bogey. Obremski parred the last two holes after making six birdies and three bogeys earlier in his round for 69.
Hatten received $1,000 from the $4,885 purse, nearly doubling his earnings of $1,057.73 heretofore. Obremski, second among 41 starters, collected $550.
The first “major” of Golfslinger’s 10th season is scheduled Thursday and Friday at the Champions Club at Summerfield in Stuart. It is open to all professional golfers. The winner is guaranteed $10,000. Golfslinger has played 20 tournaments this year, 975 since starting in August, 2004.
There was $200 in the skins pot with 3 skins out worth $66.67 each.
