WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Geoff Lee of Palm Beach Gardens fired a six under par 66 for the victory Friday at the West Palm Beach Municipal Golf Club, his third win on the Golfslinger.com Tour. Playing a bogey-free round, Lee birdied Nos. 2, 8, 10, 13, 16 and 18.
Making his first start of the year, Lee edged Andrew Pressentin of Green Bay, Wis., and Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, N.Y., who matched 67s to tie for second among 23 starters. Lee’s first two wins were within five days in May, 2012. He got $550 from the $2,375 purse, raising his career earnings to $6,781.
The Golfslinger.com Tour has played has played 51 tournaments this year. Three more18-hole events are scheduled next week: May 20, PGA National-Fazio; May 21, Abacoa GC; and May 23, Jacaranda GC-East.
