PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Eric Cole of Orlando was the only player to break par Thursday and was an easy winner in a Golfslinger.com Tour event on the Palmer course at PGA National. At 68, he won by five strokes for his 10th Golfslinger victory, his second this month.

Cole birdied twice on the front nine (4 and 8), then three in a row on the back, at Nos. 11, 12 and 13, a streak snapped by his lone bogey of the day, at the par-4 14th hole. Cole earned $650 from the $2,400 purse, raising his career Golfslinger take to $28,455 since August, 2009.

Carl McCauley of Parkland, FL tied for second place with Greg O'Mahony of Tequesta and Joshua Seale of Preforia, South Africa at 1 over par 73.

Wayne De Haas of Johannesburg, South Africa hit the shot of the day when his 3-wood from a waste bunker 276 yards out, finished 2 feet from the cup on the par-5 18th hole. He went on to make eagle.

The 11th tournament of the month and 55th this year drew 17 starters. Three 18-hole events are scheduled next week: Monday, Indian Spring CC-East, Boynton Beach; Wednesday, Abacoa GC, Jupiter; and Thursday, Fountains CC, Lake Worth.

There was $100 in the skins pot with 7 skins out worth $14.29 each
