PALM CITY, Fla. – Ryan Armour of Jupiter birdied five holes on the inward nine for a come-from-behind Golfslinger.com Tour victory Thursday on the Osprey Creek course at Martin Downs Country Club.

After Eric Cole of Orlando made five birdies on the front to lead at the turn, Armour rallied with birdies at Nos.10, 13, 14, 15 and 17. He bogeyed the 11th and edged Cole 65-66. Cole birdied 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9 but finished bogey-birdie-bogey.

With his eighth win since November, 2009, Armour earned $600 from the $2,700 purse. Cole, second among 27 starters, received $500. Cole lost in a playoff and was second in two Golfslinger events earlier this week.

Dan McCarthy tied for third place with Brandon Smith and local amateur Will Davenport at 4-under par 67. Davenport, a 2011 Graduate of Martin County High School, plays on the Yale University Golf Team and won the Ivy League Rookie of the Year Award in 2012.

Golfslinger has played 103 tournaments this year with three more scheduled next week: Tuesday and Friday, Fazio and Estate courses at PGA National, and Thursday at Winston Trails GC.

There was $100 in the skins pot with 4 skins out worth $25 each.
