WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Olin Browne Jr. of Hobe Sound fired a 6-under par 65 on Monday to win for the 2nd time on the GOLFslinger-Minor League Golf Tour. Playing Mayacoo Country Club, a perennial Monday Quailfying site for the PGA Tour's Honda Classic, Browne made 8 birdies and a double bogey.
PGA Tour winner Marc Turnesa of Jupiter, tied for 2nd place with Zac Oakley of Lewes, DE. Oakley had 4 birdies and no bogeys, Turnesa, 3 bogeys and 7 birdies, including birdies on 16, 17 and 18.
Olin Browne Sr. won four times on the Nationwide Tour and had three PGA Tour wins before joining the Champions Tour. He was an assistant captain for the U.S. Ryder Cup team in 2010.
