LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Justin Peters of Stuart claimed his record 38th Golfslinger.com Tour victory Thursday with a six under par 66 on the South course at Fountains Country Club. He had been tied at 37 wins with Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach and Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge.
Peters received $800, raising his career earnings to $109,350.20 since he joined Golfslinger in September, 2006. He made an eagle at the par-5 12th hole and four birdies to edge Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ontario, by a stroke. Silverman finished second among 31 starters with 67 on three birdies on each nine and a bogey. He earned $650.
Golfslinger plays three 18-hole tournaments next week: Monday, TPC at Eagle Trace, Coral Springs; Wednesday, PGA National, Champion course, Palm Beach Gardens; and Thursday, Martin Downs CC, Palm City.
