LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Brad Gehl of Carmel, Ind., made four straight birdies on the inward nine Tuesday at Winston Trails Golf Club to score his first victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour.
After turning in 34 with three birdies and a bogey, Gehl, 22, birdied Nos. 13, 14, 15 and 16 enroute to a six under par 66 and a one-stroke margin of victory. In just his seventh Golfslinger start, six this year, Gehl collected $725 from the $3,429 purse, raising his career earnings to $1,951.
Dan McCarthy and Mike Kartrude finished 1 shot back at 5-under par 67.
There were 27 starters in Golfslinger’s 23rd tournament of the year.
