CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Carl McCauley of nearby Parkland scored his second victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour with a four under par 68 Monday at the TPC at Eagle Trace.
McCauley won by two strokes with birdies at Nos. 1, 4, 9, 10 and 14, and a bogey at the par-4 11th hole. He received $900 from the $4,680 purse, raising his career earnings to $19,245 since July, 2006. He also won on March 11, 2013 at Jacaranda GC in Plantation.
Marc Issler of Toms River, N.J., was second with 70 on three birdies and a bogey.
The 13th and final tournament of the month, and 34th this year, drew 36 starters, including Joey Sindelar from the Champions Tour and his son, Jamie, a Golfslinger winner last week at Martin Downs in Palm City. Joey shot 74, Jamie a 75. The elder Sindelar won the 1988 Honda Classic at Eagle Trace, one of his seven PGA Tour victories.
Two more events are scheduled this week: Tuesday, Winston Trails GC, Lake Worth, and Thursday, Links at Madison Green, Royal Palm Beach.
