PLANTATION, Fla. – Michael Buttacavoli of Miami fired an eight under par 64 Thursday to earn his first victory on the Golfslinger.com Tour. Playing the back nine first, Buttacavoli, 25, birdied Nos. 10, 14, 15, 18, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 9. He bogeyed the par-4 sixth hole and won by three strokes. Buttacavoli received $760 from the $3,927 purse, raising his career earnings to $4,414. It was his eighth start since July, 2012, his second this year.
Jimmy Lytle finished solo second with a 5-under par 67.
Golfslinger’s 24th tournament of 2014 drew 33 starters. Three 18-hole events are scheduled next week: Monday, CC of Coral Springs; Tuesday, Winston Trails GC, Lake Worth; and Thursday, Champions Club, Stuart.
