NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. – Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, N.Y., won for the 3rd time in his last three attempts Thursday, scoring a four under par 67 at North Palm Beach Country Club.

Playing in the first group off the tee at 7 a.m., McCarthy made birdie on the 18th hole and overall he had six birdies and two bogeys, collecting $650 from the $2,500 purse. He has 28 wins and earnings of $85,743 since October, 2007 and has won his last three starts dating back to his two wins back in May. McCarthy has been playing on the PGA Canadian Tour this summer.

Carl McCauley, of Parkland, finishing about 45 minutes later, made birdies at the 17th and 18th holes but came up a shot short with 68 on four birdies and a bogey. He was second among 20 starters, receiving $525. McCauley has collected seven wins and $32,806 since May, 2012.

In the training division, the winner was amateur Zack Toste of Pembroke Pines with 73 on two birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey. He received a $75 merchandise certificate.
