Amateur Airik Medinis of Ft. Myers won the first Training Division event of 2014 with a 2 over par 73. He finished 2 shot behind his brother Alex, but would have been solo third in the professional division with his efforts.
The GOLFslinger Training Division is targeted at players that are in the developmental stages of learning to play competitive golf and is offered during selected monthly GOLFslinger tournaments.
The Training Division entry fee is half that of the of the professional event fee, with the winner receiving a gift certificate for an amount not to exceed the cost of entry. Total payout depends on the number of players competing in the Training Division, with $20-$25 per player going into the payout.
