PALM CITY, Fla. – Josh Hart of Jupiter may have found a home in Martin County. On Thursday, Hart, 30, won his third Golfslinger.com Tour event in the last 13 months, all on the Osprey Creek course at Martin Downs Country Club here.
Hart fired a seven under par 64, the same score as on Nov. 11. He won a playoff at 69 on Nov. 21, 2013. His latest effort included an eagle at the par-5 13th hole and birdies at Nos. 8, 9, 12, 16 and 17. He did not make a bogey.
The victory was worth $650 from the $3,016 purse, raising his career earnings to $10,900 since February, 2008. There were 26 starters in the 118th tournament of the year.
Charlie Winegardner of Lothian, MD finished 2nd with 5-under par 66 followed by Krister Eriksson from Norrkeping, Sweden in 3rd place with 2-under par 69. Five players tied for fourth at 1-under par 70.
Golfslinger’s 11th season ends with three tournaments next week: a regular 18-hole event Monday at West Palm Beach GC; a 27-hole, two-man team tournament Tuesday at Jupiter Dunes GC; and the Holiday Team Championship Thursday at Atlantis CC. Play will resume Jan. 12 at TPC Eagle Trace in Coral Springs.
