PLANTATION, Fla. - Kristian Caparros of Hollywood shot 66 to win by 1 shot at Jacaranda Golf Club in Plantation. Caparros, an amateur, won in just his second start, both in the past two weeks.
On the par-71 East course at Jacaranda, Caparros had six birdies and a bogey. He received a merchandise certificate worth $600.
Curtis Thompson of Coral Springs, younger brother of touring pros Nick and Lexi Thompson, finished second. Nick and Lexi have one Golfslinger victory apiece.
The Golfslinger.com Tour has played 96 tournaments this year, 1,174 since starting in August, 2004. Caparros’ win was the 20th by an amateur. There were 26 starters at Jacaranda.
