LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Max Buckley of Rye, N.Y., won for the first time on the Minor League Golf Tour with two birdies on each nine for a four under par 68 Thursday at Winston Trails Golf Club.
It was his ninth MLGT start, all this year, and the eighth straight time he finished in the top 10. Buckley, 25, received $765 from the $4,000 purse, raising his career earnings to $5,188.
Jeff Bronkema of Plainwell, Michigan, Robert DeBiase of Venezuela, and Brandon Smith of West Palm Beach tied for second place at 3-under par 69. Seven players tied for 5th at 2-under par 70.
The MLGT’s 31st tournament of the year drew 33 starters. The final tournament of the month is scheduled Tuesday at the Evergreen Club in Palm City.
