STUART, Fla. – Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge improved on both his career Minor League Golf Tour records Thursday winning with a three under par 69 at the Champions Club. Lytle birdied four of his first eight holes, finishing with five birdies and two bogeys, winning by a shot.
Alex Medinis, of Fort Myers, and Max Buckley, from Rye, N.Y., tied for 2nd with 2-under par 70.
It was Lytle’s 47th victory and he received $540 from the $865 purse, raising his career earnings to $175,222. Both his total of wins and money are MLGT records. He joined the tour in July, 2006, and won twice before turning pro in August, 2008.
The tour’s 45th tournament of the year drew only six entries, one of the smallest fields since it started in August, 2004. Two events are scheduled next week: Monday, CC of Coral Springs, and Thursday, Abacoa GC, Jupiter.
