BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Mason Jacobs of Metropolis, Ill, won his second straight Minor League Golf Tour tournament Monday with a seven under par 64 on the West course at Indian Spring Country Club.
Jacobs, 25, made four birdies on each nine and bogeyed the par-4 16th hole to win by two shots. He received $375 from the $1,458 purse, raising his career earnings to $4,050 since he joined the MLGT in February. Jacobs has finished no worse than a tie for second in five of his last six starts.
Dan McCarthy from Syracuse, NY and Danny Sahl from Edmonton, Canada, both carded nines of 31-35 for 5-under par 66's and a tie for 2nd, two shots behind Jacobs.
Next on the MLGT schedule: Thursday, North Palm Beach CC, and then a 3 day event August 17-19 at West Palm Beach GC.
