LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Steve LeBrun of West Palm Beach, FL continued his strong play on the Minor League Golf Tour with a come-from-behind victory Thursday at Inverrary Country Club.

Trailing by a one stroke after the first round, LeBrun carded a second round 71 for a 36-hole total of 140 and a two stroke victory.

LeBrun, 37, a graduate of John I. Leonard High School and Florida Atlantic University, received $950 from the $2,336, raising his career earnings to $125,237 since August, 2007. It was his 46th MLGT win including three in the last five events in August.

Mike Kartrude of Royal Palm Beach, FL and Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge, FL tied for 2nd at two-under par 142.

The 36-hole event was added to the schedule after a three-day tournament earlier in the week was washed out by the remnants of Tropical Strorm Erika. There were eight starters.

The MLGT, which has staged 77 tournaments this year, plays next Tuesday at Abacoa GC and Thursday at the Breakers’ Rees Jones course, both in Palm Beach County.

The MLGT's 3rd Major of the year is just 2 weeks away. It is a 36-hole event staged at Martin Downs' Osprey Course on September 16-17. The entry fee is $590 with a 40% payout. First place will be $10,000 with 61 or more players, $6,000 with 45 or more players, and $3,000 guaranteed at any number of players. Please sign up early to help grow the field size.

LAUDERHILL, Fla. - Tropical Storm Erika delayed the start and shortened the event at Inverrary Country Club this week from 54 to 36-holes and mother nature decided to test the players even more on Day 1. The players outlasted 4 weather delays that totaled 4 hours and 28 minutes. Mike Kartrude overcame 2 bogies with 6 birdies and an opening round 68 to lead Steve LeBrun by 1 shot going into the final round. LeBrun made 4 birdies and 1 bogey for 3-under par 69.
