NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. – Brian Anderson of Rochester, Ill, birdied the last hole Wednesday to earn his 18th victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. His four under par 67 was just enough for a one-shot margin over two players tied at 68. Anderson birdied the first two holes at the North Palm Beach Country Club, then made four birdies and two bogeys on the inward nine.
Anderson received $750 from the $4,050 purse, boosting his career earnings to $51,774.55. He won his first MLGT start December 12, 2005 and has played sporadically since then.
Joe Latowski from Port Saint Lucie, FL and Brad Adamonis from Cumberland, RI tied for second after 3-under par 68's. Four players tied for fourth at 2-under par 69.
The MLGT’s 83rd tournament of the year drew 30 starters. Two 18-hole events are scheduled next week in West Palm Beach, Monday at West Palm Beach Municipal and Thursday at Breakers-Rees Jones.
The 3rd Major of the year has been re-scheduled after being washed out due to flooding. It will be held at Abacoa Golf Club on Monday-Tuesday, October 5-6. A $3,000 first prize is guaranteed at any number of players and $6,000 guaranteed at 45 or more players. Sign up early to help build the field size.
