LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Alvin Okada of Waianae, Hawaii, made three straight birdies on the back nine Monday enroute to his third victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. He birdied Nos. 1, 4, 6 and 7 to turn in 32, then birdied 11, 12 and 13 for 65 to beat Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge, FL by six strokes on the East course at Inverrary Country Club. Lytle had three birdies and two bogeys for 71, second among seven starters as more than three dozen MLGT regulars are playing this week at Breakers Rees Jones in West Palm Beach in first stage qualifying for the 2016 Web.com Tour. Okada received $425 from the $910 purse to boost his career earnings to $6,623 over the past 13 months.
Two more 18-hole tournaments are on the MLGT schedule this week: Wednesday at Jacaranda GC in nearby Plantation and Thursday at Iron horse Country Club in West Palm Beach.
