PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, NY, birdied his final hole Monday and the last two on Tuesday to earn his 43rd win on the Minor League Golf Tour.
McCarthy shot 70-66—136, six under par on the Estate course at PGA National to win by two over a 41-player field. He received $2,000 from the $10,045 purse, raising his career earnings to $123,390 since October, 2007. In 36 holes here, McCarthy made 10 birdies and 4 bogeys. His 66 was the low round of the final day.
Carl McCauley from Parkland, FL and Stephan Jaeger from Munich, Germany, tied for 2nd two shots behind McCarthy at 138. Jaeger won back to back events last week including a 2 day event right here at PGA Estates.
The Estates course at PGA National re-did their greens over the summer of 2015 and re opened just 3 months ago. While the greens are in great shape and rolling smooth, being firm provided a great challenge to the players during the event.
There were 2 skins out each day worth $220 each. Click any of the dollar signs in the Skins column below to view the hole by hole skins results for both days.
