PALM CITY, Fla. – Sandro Piaget of Jupiter, FL, birdied five of his last nine holes Wednesday for an eight under par 63 to pull out his seventh victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
After making the turn in 32 on the Osprey Creek Course at Martin Downs Country Club with four birdies and a bogey, Piaget birdied Nos. 10, 11, 14, 15 and 18 for a two-stroke margin of victory, receiving $800 from the $4,485 purse and raising his career earnings to $29,616 since February, 2007. Sandro won twice on teh MLGT as an amateur before turning pro in December 2007.
Tied for second at 65 among 39 starters were Dan McCarthy of Syracuse, NY, with seven birdies and a bogey, and Jordan Elsen of Kenosha, WI, who had six birdies and no bogeys.
Elsen finished 5th in last weeks PGA Tour Latinoamerica tournament in Guatemala. His scoring average on the MLGT in 2016 is 71.1 which has earned him 5 top 5 finishes in 17 starts. Keep up the good play Jordan.
