Tuesday, August 2, 2016

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Brian Fister of Lexington, KY, overcame a double bogey on the front nine with five birdies on the back Tuesday to claim his third victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.

On a day when play was interrupted several times by rain and lightning, Fister finished at three under par 69 at Seagate Country Club to win by a stroke. After a birdie at the fourth hole, he doubled the par-4 seventh hole, then birdied Nos. 11, 12, 13, 15 and 16. He closed with another bogey at the 17th.

Fister received $475 from the $1,200 purse, raising his career earnings to $15,478 since November, 2013. He won twice earlier this year.

The MLGT's 66th tournament of the year drew 10 entries. The next event is scheduled Thursday at the Breakers Rees Jones course near West Palm Beach.
