JUPITER, Fla. - Will Coleman from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, bogeyed his final hole to shoot a 5-under par 67 but it didn't matter because he had a 3 shot lead entering the final hole. Coleman started out hot by birding 7 of the first 14 holes on Thursday at Jupiter Country Club. He bogeyed 2 of the last 3 but he still won by 2 shots over the 5 players that had already posted 3-under par 69's.
Coleman, 33, earned $400 in this unique low cost $100 entry fee event. It drew 33 starters. There was also an optional $100 bonus pool. 10 players chose to enter the bonus pool creating a prize pool of $1,000. Coleman won the bonus pool to add $400 to his winners check earning him a total of $800 for the win.
Coleman is one of the Assistant Golf Professionals at Jupiter Country Club so there was a little added pressure to defend home turf at a course he plays regularly. The Minor League Golf Tour has played 2 events this year at Jupiter Country Club and Coleman has won both times.
