JUPITER, Fla. – Justin Peters of Stuart, FL, was the only player not to make a bogey Wednesday, winning on the Minor League Golf Tour with a seven under par 65 at Abacoa Golf Club. He birdied Nos. 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 13 and 16 and collected $800 from the $4,190 purse plus an additional $223 from an optional bonus pool. This raised his career earnings to $132,056 since September, 2006.
Nicoolas Cavero of Valencia, Venezuela, also had seven birdies but he bogeyed the par-4 seventh hole and finished second among 33 starters. He received $580.
The MLGT plays another 18-hole tournament Thursday, on the Estate course at nearby PGA National, its 99th event of the year.
The Match Play Championship is back by popular demand and starts in just 6 days. It will take place at Martin Downs Country Club Tuesday 11/15 through Friday 11/18. 100% of entry fees less the course cost is going into the purse for the Match Play Championship. The Tour is not charging any administrative fee for this event. If you aren't able to play in the Match Play Championship or if you get eliminated early there will be a 1-day event at West Palm Beach Golf Club on Friday 11/18.
