PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Olin Browne Jr. of Hobe Sound, FL, dominated the par-5's on the Champion course at PGA National for two days enroute to his fifth victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
The son of PGA Tour Champions veteran Olin Browne Sr., Olin Jr. shot 66-70—136 to win by four strokes Tuesday. He birdied the par-5 third, sixth and 10th holes both days and parred the long 18th twice.
Browne, 29, received $1,800 from the $10,225 purse, $857 from the optional bonus pool and another $100 in the skins game for a total of $2,757, raising his career earnings to $20,192 since July, 2009.
Tied for second among 36 starters at four under par 140 were Jason Thresher of West Suffield, CT, with 69-71 on an eagle at the par-5 10th hole, eight birdies and six bogeys; and Jhared Hack of Sanford, FL, a pair of 70's with nine birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey. Browne led Thresher by 66 to 69 after the first round Monday.
A big thank you to PGA National Resort and Spa for hosting this great event on the Champ Course. The course was in tournament condition and provided a great test for the players.
The MLGT returns to the Champion course, site of the PGA Tour's Honda Classic, for an 18-hole event Wednesday, its 51st tournament of the year.

He overcame that bogey on the 16th hole with 7 birdies. His opening round of 6-under par 66 was only 1 of 2 rounds under 70 on Day 1.
Jason Thrasher from West Suffield, CT, had the only other sub 70 round and enters the final day 3 shots behind Browne Jr. Thrasher went out in 1-over par but played a 5 hole stretch (10-14) on the back nine 5-under. He bogied the 18th hole but still managed a 3-under par 69.
