WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Bo Hoag of Columbus, OH, won his second straight tournament on the Minor League Golf Tour, posting a six under par 66 Thursday with eight birdies and two bogeys at West Palm Beach Golf Club.
This follows Hoag’s winning score of four under 68 Tuesday at Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter. Both courses are within sight of Interstate 95, just nine exits apart. He had five birdies and a bogey and won by two shots.
At the municipal course here, Hoag also won by two and received $650 from the $3,160 purse. He collected $1,000 from Tuesday’s victory. Hoag now has five wins since joining the MLGT in November, 2011, and career earnings of $25,767.
For the first time in the history of the Minor League Golf Tour, a player in the Training Division matched the score of the winner in the regular division, a 66 by amateur Andrew Chambers of Boca Raton, FL. He had an eagle, six birdies and two bogeys, receiving a $75 merchandise certificate.
The Training Division is meant for players (amateurs or pros) that want to get all the experience of tournament golf for a fraction of the entry fee. The entry fee is half that of the regular division with $20-$25 per player going into a gift certificate purse.
