Jimmy Lytle wins the 2017 Q-School Contest #1 Kickoff in a playoff

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge, FL, birdied the second playoff hole Tuesday to increase his numbers as the career leader in both total wins and money earned on the Minor League Golf Tour.

Lytle edged Jamie Sindelar of Horseheads, NY, after they tied at two under par 140 on the Estate course at PGA National. After they matched par-4's on the first extra hole, Lytle sank an eight-foot birdie putt for the win at the par-4 second. Sindelar had missed the green, chipped short and missed his par putt.

In regulation, Lytle shot 69-71—140 with eight birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 fifth hole Tuesday enroute to his 58th victory since joining the MLGT in July, 2006. He received $1,500 from the $7,300 purse and additional $733 from an optional bonus pool, boosting his overall total to $214,691.

Jamie Sindelar, the son of Joey Sindelar, a past winner on both PGA and PGA Champions tours, posted 74-66 with eight birdies and six bogeys, finishing second among 27 starters and collecting $1,100. He has three MLGT wins and $27,554 in earnings since October, 2013.

The first 2017 WEB.com Q-School contest heads to Martin Downs Country Club for the final 2 days. The low 4-day score for the week will have their 2017 Web.com Q-School paid for by the Minor League Golf Tour. At the halfway point Jamie Sindelar leads Brant Peaper by 2 shots. Seven players are within 6 shots of the lead with 36 holes to play.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Brant Peaper from Tequesta, FL fired a 3-under par 68 in very windy conditions to lead the PGA Estates 2-day and the first Web.com Q-School Contest of 2017. Peaper overcame 3 bogies with 4 birdies and an eagle on the par-5 9th hole.

All time Minor League Golf Tour money leader, Jimmy Lytle, is one shot back of Peaper after a 2-under par 69. Lytle is not in the 4-day long Q-School contest.

19 of the 27 participants chose to enter the optional $200 Web.com Q-School contest. The low 4-day score will earn a full paid entry into 2017 Web.com Q-School.

Even if you did not compete in the Q-School contest or the 2-day at PGA Estates you can still participate in the 2-day event Wednesday-Thursday at Martin Downs. The entry fee is $390 with 40% of the field earning a check. There is also an optional $40 skins game and $200 bonus pool.
