CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Marc Mazza from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, fired a one under par 70 to win at the Country Club of Coral Springs on Monday. He overcame a double bogey and 2 bogies with 5 birdies including 3 in the final 6 holes.
This is the smallest field the Minor League Golf Tour has had since its inception in 2004 but the Tour has a policy that it will never cancel an event due to small signups. Tour policy is that first place will be at least double entry fee at any number of players so because Marc didn't withdraw he earned $300 (double the $150 entry fee) for playing in the event.
Marc is preparing for Web.com Q-School this fall and decided not to withdraw due to the small field because he wants as many reps as possible before Q-School. Good luck this fall at Q-School Marc!
