PALM CITY, Fla. – Conor Richardson of West Palm Beach, FL, won a four-man playoff Tuesday on the Minor League Golf at Hammock Creek Golf Club. Richardson’s par-72 was enough for his first MLGT victory. He received $350 from the $560 purse, $75 from an optional bonus pool and $25.71 in the skins game to total $450.74. The three players who tied for second received $70 apiece from the main purse.
In the playoff, Jimmy Lytle of Ocean Ridge, FL and Justin Peters of Stuart, FL were eliminated with bogey-5's on the first hole. Richardson and Zack Shriver of Marysville, WA, advanced with pars, matched birdie-4's at the second and par-4's at the third. At the fourth, Richardson sank a 15 footer for birdie and the win.
The Minor League Golf Tour's 3rd Major and 6th and final WEB.com Q-School Contest of 2017 starts in just 6 days. The Major will take place on the famed Champ course at PGA National. The entry fee is $640 with 40% of the field earning a check. $4K first at 35 players, $5K first at 45 players and $6K first at 50 players. The Web.com Q-School Contest is optional and has an entry fee of $200. The MLGT is guaranteeing a full paid entry into 2017 Web.com Q-school for the low 2-day score of those players entered in the contest. If more than 25 players participate in the contest, the extra money will go towards the 2nd place finisher's (in the contest) 2017 Web.com Q-school entry. The winners Q-School entry fee will be refunded after they start their first stage. If you are not going to Q-School this year you can still play in the Q-School contest.
