PALM CITY, Fla. – Sunny Kim of Queens, NY, birdied the last three holes of regulation and the first three playoff holes Tuesday enroute to his 47th victory on the Minor League Golf Tour.
After they tied at seven under par 65, Kim outlasted Jack Whelan of Jupiter, FL and Bradley Lankler of Westfield, NJ. Kim and Whelen both birdied the first three extra holes, then Kim won with a two-putt par-3 at the fourth.
Kim and Whelan each had eight birdies and a bogey, Lankler seven birdies. Whelan and Lankler are still looking for their first win on the MLGT.
Kim earned $800 from the $4,150 purse and $95 from the skins game. Whelan and Lankler collected $540 apiece from the purse. Whelan received an additional $95 in skins and $210 from an optional bonus pool for a total of $845.
The MLGT’s 19th tournament of the year drew 33 entries. Next on the schedule is a visit Thursday to Jupiter Country Club.
