PARKLAND, Fla. – Nicolas Cavero of Valencia, Venezuela, birdied the first extra hole Monday at Parkland Golf & Country Club to win for the second time on the Minor League Golf Tour. Coincidentally, Cavero’s other MLGT victory was also on the first playoff hole, Oct. 13, 2016 at Atlantic National Golf Club west of Lantana.
Cavero tied at three under par 69 with Luke Graboyes of Watchung, NJ, and David Kocher of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Cavero sank a 20 footer for the win after coming up short of the green on his second shot at the par-5 first hole. In regulation, Cavero made four birdies before he bogeyed the par-4 17th hole, earning $900 from the $5,000 purse.
