PARKLAND, Fla. – Zach Zaback’s bogey-free scorecard was enough to edge Jacob Eggers and Gavin Hall Monday at Parkland Golf & Country Club. Zaback, of Farmington, CT, made three birdies on each nine, at Nos. 3, 4 and 9, then the 13th, 14th and 17th for a six under par 66. He received $775 from the $3,810 purse, $214 from an optional bonus pool and $152 in the skins game for a total of $1,141. This raised his career earnings to $51,951 since he joined the MLGT in October, 2016. It was his seventh MLGT victory.
Tied for second at 67 among 29 starters were Eggers, of Boone, NC, who eagled the par-5 first hole, added five birdies but finished with bogeys at Nos. 16 and 18; and Hall, of Pittsford, NY, who had seven birdies before closing by bogeying the 16th and 17th holes. He gained his second MLGT victory last Saturday (April 20) at Fountains CC near Lake Worth. Eggers has three wins.
In seven days the MLGT's 3rd Monday Qualifying School Contest presented by Abacoa GC starts. It consists of three 1-day tournaments (Atlantic National 4,29, Monarch CC 4/30 and CC of Coral Springs 5/2). The player with the lowest cumulative score will earn a $1,000 bonus to compete in a Monday Qualifier on the Web.com or PGA Tour.
