Olin Browne Jr. makes eight birdies en route to 64 and a one shot win over CJ Swift

JUPITER, Fla. – Olin Briowne Jr. of Hobe Sound, FL opened with three birdies and closed with three more Tuesday at Abacoa Golf Club leading to his 12th victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. At eight under par 64, Browne edged CJ Swift of Naples, FL, who made seven birdies for 65, second among 49 starters.

The son of former U.S. Senior Open champion Olin Browne Sr., Olin Jr., 31, also birdied the eighth and 10th holes and did not make a bogey. He received $1,000 from the $6,080 purse and an additional $217 from an optional bonus pool. He has career earnings of $58,546 since joining the MLGT in July, 2009.

The final Monday Qualifier Contest of 2019 presented by Abacoa Golf Club starts on Tuesday 10/8 at Abacoa GC and ends Thursday 10/10 at Atlantis CC. The second event is Wednesday 10/9 at Wellington National GC. The player with the lowest cumulative score for the three events will win a $1k bonus to go play in a Monday Qualifier on the Korn Ferry or PGA Tour.
