JUPITER, Fla. – Zach Zaback of Farmington, CT, made five birdies on the front nine Tuesday and held on for his eigth victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. Zaback held off a late surge by Marc Mazza of Palm Beach Gardens, winning by 67 to 69 at Jupiter Country Club. Zaback birdied Nos. 2, 4, 5, 7 and 9, turning in 32 after a bogey at the par-3 sixth hole. He made two birdies and a bogey on the inward nine. Mazza eagled the par-5 ninth hole to turn in 33, bogeyed 14 and 15, then birdied the 16th and 17th holes.
Zaback received $600 from the $2,250 purse and an additional $150 from an optional bonus pool, raising his career earnings to $53,869 since October, 2016. Mazza, second of 18 starters, collected $465 from the main purse. Mazza was the MLGT winner last Thursday (May 2) at the CC of Coral Springs.
The MLGT plays twice more this week, Thursday at Seagate CC, Delray Beach, and Saturday at Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm City.
