BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Eric Cole from Orlando, FL birdied 3 of the last 4 holes to post an unofficial course record of 63 on the east course at Indian Spring Country Club. Admittedly when he finished he thought it would be good enough for the win so he left property. Zach Zaback, playing 5 groups behind Cole, went out in 32 and proceeded to make 5 birdies on the back nine including a 25 footer on 18 to tie Cole's freshly set course record. Cole kept an eye on the live leaderboard on his cell phone and made it back in plenty of time for the playoff. The course record is unofficial because the local rule of lift, clean and place was in effect due to overnight rains.
Cole and Zaback went to the par-5 10th hole for the sudden death playoff. Both men found the fairway and Zaback hit 3 iron to 30 feet for eagle. Cole then hit 3 iron 7 feet away to a pin tucked right over a bunker. Zaback would leave his a little short and Cole rolled in the 7 foot eagle putt for his 40th win on the MLGT. He earned $575 from the $1,920 purse plus $100 from the bonus pool and an $86.67 skin for a total of $761.67.
