PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Toks Pedro of Bowie, MD, overcame a triple bogey Wednesday to earn his first victory on the Minor League Golf Tour with a four under par 68 at Sandhill Crane Golf Club.
Pedro, 23, a Nigerian-American who played in every tournament over four years at Rutgers University, tripled the par-4 sixth hole but fought back with birdies at Nos. 2, 7, 10, 13, 14, 15 and 18. He received $750 from the $3,590 purse, raising his career earnings to $2,803 since August, 2018.
Tied for second, a stroke back at 69 were Marc Mazza of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Josh Goldenberg of Scarsdale, NY, and Florian Kolberg of Germany, each with five birdies and two bogeys; and Michael Werenski, South Hadley, MA, four birdies and one bogey. Each collected $420.
