PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Rasmey Kong of West Palm Beach, FL and North Haven, CT, birdied the last two holes Thursday for his seventh victory on the Minor League Golf Tour, his second in four days.
At four under par 67 on the Estate course at PGA National, Kong edged Luke Graboyes of Watchung, NJ, by a stroke. Kong also shot 67 on Monday, five under at Parkland Country Club. He made three birdies and a bogey on each nine on the Estate course. The son of Cambodian refugees, Kong received $1,025 from the $5,645 purse and another $210 from an optional bonus pool.
Graboyes made his only bogey of the day at the par-5 18th hole. He had four birdies earlier in his round and collected $675 for finishing second among 43 starters.
Three 18-hole tournaments are scheduled next week: Tuesday, Abacoa GC; Thursday, CC of Coral Springs; and Friday, Fountains CC-South.
