BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A first round lead turned into Eric Dietrich's 6th win on the MLGT. The 26 year old from Cheshire, CT made 4 birdies and 1 bogey in the opening round Wednesday on the East course at Indian Spring Country Club. Right before play was set to begin Thursday a storm came through the area and dumped over an inch of rain on the already wet course causing the course to become unplayable.
MLGT policy states if the entire field finishes more than half the scheduled starting holes (18 of an 36 hole event) and weather prohibits the event from finishing it is deemed official and however many holes the last group finishes count for the event. The final group did not tee off when the course closed so everyone in the field completed 18 holes.
All players were refunded day 2 skins money and course cost.
Tying for 2nd place at 70 were Josh Hart from Jupiter, FL and University of Michigan golfer Jack O'Donnell (a).
