STUART, Fla. – Zach Zaback of Farmington, CT, birdied five of nine holes on each side Thursday at The Florida Club to earn his 16th victory on the Minor League Golf Tour. Zaback made one bogey, at the par-4 14th hole, but a nine under 63 was enough to win by two strokes. He earned $1,025 from the $6,200 purse and an additional $233 from an optional bonus pool for a total of $1,258.
Local favorite Olin Browne Jr. of nearby Hobe Sound was second with 34-31—65 on seven birdies. He collected $993.
Zaback has Korn Ferry Tour status and it looking forward to the 2021 season starting back up in February. His scoring average for his last 10 rounds is 67.6.
The MLGT’s seventh tournament of its 18th season drew 48 starters.
The first Major of 2021 starts in just 5 days. It will be staged at the Country Club of Coral Springs and will feature a $10k first prize.
