LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Amateur Braden Threlkeld from Black Diamond, WA outlasted Derek Trofimczuk on the first playoff hole after both men tied at 3-under par 68 on the west course at Fountains Country Club. Trofimczuk missed the green short left and chipped it to 5 feet while Threlkeld hit his 2nd to 15 feet for birdie. Trofimczuk missed his par attempt after Threlkeld missed his birdie putt leaving Threlkeld a short par putt for his first win on the MLGT.
Threlkeld earned a $650 gift certificate to the PGA Tour Superstore for the win. Trofimczuk $450 for the 2nd place finish, his 3rd top 5 finish in the 7 events he has played.
